The 10th anniversary workshop at CSMVS was an incredible experience that I was fortunate to be part of and I am very grateful for the generosity of the British Museum and it’s support for creating this opportunity and making it possible. My experience at CSMVS in 2015 was so enriching on a professional as well as a personal level. The workshop left me with incredible relationships with professionals from across the globe that continue to flourish and have resulted in an online exhibition that simply started from a common ground within our group. I was very impressed with the quality of the workshop as well as the activities and the outcomes that are still created until today and are enriching the ITP network across the globe.
One thing in particular that stood out from my experience working with an international team from the UK, India, Nigeria, and Kenya is that I realized how different we can be, but how many similarities we have across our cultures. The online exhibition here works as a mediator for storytelling that aims to connect peoples’ culture together. Of course, today sharing stories has never been easier. Through the online exhibition, I hope that sharing stories with various people from different cultural backgrounds can open new possibilities for interfacing and living together in order to narrow the gap between differences and instead celebrate and strengthen similarities in our society.
